The tongue is a fleshy muscular organ that takes up a lot of room in the mouth. In humans, it is used for tasting, licking, swallowing, kissing, and speaking. The tongue is also a spiritual tool. It can be used for good or evil depending on the words that it forms. The tongue is a powerful weapon when used against sickness and disease. Speak life -- not death -- and the health of your body, mind, and spirit will greatly improve.
Remember the first chapter of Genesis? It tells how God's words set creation in motion. He said it, and it was done. "Let there be light and there was light." God created the world with His words! Then He created us in His image. No matter your religious beliefs, the powerful story of creation implies that our tongues are important tools. Like God, our tongues also contain great powers.
Whether we realize it or not, the tongue brings either peace and joy or pain and destruction. Humans should be careful about spewing out negative words, gossiping, and lying. It is hard to control the tongue but it gets easier with practice. Dirty laundry can seem more interesting than clean linen. Still it is best to speak on good things. Try it for one day and see what happens!
We should call those things that are not as though they were. If you grasp this truth, you will be a lot happier.
Speaking things into being seems crazy at first, but it is a powerful tool given to humans as a gift. The Bible talks a lot about the tongue and gives us instructions for using this important organ wisely. Positive speech can move mountains - even if it is just one dirt clod at a time.
When used for the good, the tongue can change lives for the better. Don't say, "I'm catching a cold". Are your running after it trying to capture it? No! Tell it to leave your presence. Out loud. Rebuke all sickness in the name of Jesus. Of course, you should also take precautions like washing your hands and eating right. Yes, words are powerful, but common sense is a virtue, too. Go to a doctor if necessary. God created doctors, too.
A healthy tongue is pink and moist. If your tongue is white or has a sore, herbs can help. Medicinal herbs and home remedies can help heal and protect the tongue, gums, and mouth. Use yellowroot tea as a mouthwash to kill infection. Use salt water as a rinse to relieve mild pain. Try brushing with licorice and myrrh powders to clean deeply and build immunity. Use honey or Aloe Vera juice to protect, heal, and prevent infection on the tongue and in the mouth.
Constant complaining does not help anything. Instead count your blessings and give thanks. Small changes in speech can alter lives.
If you hate vegetables but would like to eat more of them, get up every morning and say, "I love broccoli and cabbage. I love colorful beets, and squash, tomatoes, and greens. Yum Yum!"
Soon your way of thinking will change. Some people might point at mind control, but it's really God's way of empowering us. Our words work miracles -- so be sure to thank God when the day comes that you crave salads and vegetable plates instead of fried chicken.
Bestow blessings, not curses. If someone says, "God damn" then you say "God Bless". A blessing will counter a curse and render it ineffective.
The name of "Jesus" is the best tool of all and is readily available to all Christians. Just speaking the name "Jesus" alerts our guardian angels and stops Satan's demons in their tracks. People might stare when they hear the name of Jesus because it is a rare occurrence in today's world. They might make fun or even get angry. That's OK because seeds have been planted in their brains.
The battle between health and sickness is a spiritual war that we can win! God gives us tools like the tongue so we can have better lives here on Earth. Use the gift of speech to do good. Use it to heal your body. Use it to bless others. Study God's other spiritual gifts and use them, too! We are not worms of the dirt, but strong princesses and princes of God.

"The only way to really learn about herbal medicine is to touch and smell herbs, taste them, use them daily, and grow them if possible. Herbal medicine is a way of life. It is not a quick fix." ... Janice Boling, herbalist, web designer, writer, photographer
